Elementary Instructional Support Teacher - Reading Focus
St. Mary's Montessori School is looking for an Elementary Instructional Support Teacher - Reading Focus.

We are looking for experienced Elementary Assistant Teachers who are Reading Specialists.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. *Group and Individual Instruction*: Provide targeted reading instruction to small groups and individual students who require additional support to meet grade-level reading standards.
2. *Scheduled Sessions*: Work with students according to a scheduled plan, ensuring consistent and dedicated support.
3. *Montessori Approach*: Design and implement reading instruction that aligns with the Montessori method, emphasizing self-directed learning and hands-on activities.
4. *Collaboration with Lead Teachers*: Work closely with lead teachers to understand each child's unique needs, develop personalized reading plans, and share progress updates.
5. *Progress Monitoring and Reporting*: Regularly assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and generate reports to inform instruction and communicate with parents.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. *Creating Reading Materials*: Develop and adapt reading materials to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring engaging and challenging content.
2. *Sending Work Home*: Provide students with reading assignments and activities to complete at home, promoting continued practice and reinforcement.
3. *Parent Workshop*: Organize and facilitate a parent workshop on reading, offering strategies and techniques to support students' reading development at home.
4. *Documentation and Record-Keeping*: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including reading assessments, lesson plans, and communication with parents.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. *Student Progress*: Consistently demonstrate student progress toward meeting grade-level reading standards.
2. *Parent Engagement*: Foster strong partnerships with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and offering strategies for supporting reading development at home.
3. *Collaboration with Lead Teachers*: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with lead teachers, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Salary: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Bachelors: English / Elementary Education (Preferred)
12 Core Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units (Preferred)
College Courses pertaining to Elementary Reading Education
High school or equivalent
